Highlights from the Festival

From a costumed All Species Parade to hands-on activities, live music, and local food trucks, this year's Earth Day Festival brought neighbors together for a joyful day of action and celebration.

All Species Parade

Festivalgoers dressed as their favorite creatures and joined the 10:30 AM parade around the Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School campus. The first 200 people who pre-registered, dressed up, and marched received a $10 Wild Oats Bakery gift certificate.

Food Trucks & Local Eats

Guests came hungry for a small, curated lineup of local food trucks serving gelato, wood-fired pizza, loaded baked potatoes, and more Earth-friendly options.

Exhibit Hall

Hundreds of people enjoyed dozens of exhibits in the gym throughout the Festival.

Animal Show

Besides all the dress-up species, there were real species at the Festival, too!

Wicked Wheelbarrow Race

Participants helped spread mulch for the Harriet’s Haven school garden, then navigated an obstacle course with a wheelbarrow. Individual time trials from 10 am to 2 pm qualified teams for the 2:30 pm finals.

The day also featured art, dancing, educational talks, interactive exhibits, demonstrations, off-grid solar generators, and electric vehicles on display — plus much more.
